We had a great time at Buscon 2017 last week in Indianapolis, IN. We were proud to display our new RVS-77550 360+ Bird's Eye View System with Lane Changing Cameras.
While all other 360 systems help just for parking and tight driving situations. Our new 360+ helps with lane changing and highway driving as well! A bird's eye view around your vehicle is great, but the view is limited to just a couple of feet. The side cameras greatly increase your view, allowing for easy lane changes and completely eliminating side blind spots.
Our BusCon friend, Jerry the Giraffe, sported the new system, showing...

Rear View Safety continues to be on the cutting edge of vehicle safety technology. The Brooklyn based company, which celebrates their 10th anniversary this year, is proud to introduce the 360+ Bird’s Eye View System with lane changing cameras.
According to an estimate from the National Safety Council, as many as 40,000 people died in motor vehicle crashes last year. This is a 6% rise from 2015. Not only does the 360+ erase blind spots and assist with parking navigation on narrow roads (all other 360° systems only have these features), it is also equipped with two side cameras to help with lane...

Now that it's nicer outside I can finally start riding my bike more. Though it's been a bit rainy here (April showers), yesterday it was perfect. I was riding to the supermarket when I saw a car accident.
Here's what happened. A cyclist ran into a car that was turning left at a stop sign. The cyclist had stopped for the stop sign (it was a four way stop) and had the right of way. They weren't seriously hurt, but a bit scraped up and definitely in shock. The driver of the car stopped and was very apologetic. The cyclist was very upset, but calmed down a bit when he realized the other driver was...

Kelly, my fiance, and I got rid of our cars shortly after we moved to New York. I really miss driving everyday. One of my brothers also lives in the city and we trade babysitting for occasionally using his car for groceries or for a weekend trip to the beach. It's a great trade. Recently he took a road trip with his family to Ohio. He took it into his local shop to get checked out before the trip. It's an old but reliable car, so he wanted to make sure everything was alright before the long drive. His car was fine, but he left the shop with peace of mind.

Vehicle safety regulations have changed. Below is a demonstration from the 2017 NTEA Work Truck Show of compliance to the FMVSS 111 law. The new law states a necessary view behind a vehicle. This standard must be in effect starting May 2018 and will require all vehicles under 10,000 pounds to adhere to a certain field of view behind the vehicle. In vehicles with limited rear vision, installation of a backup camera which provides the necessary rear view will be mandatory.

Kelly (my fiance) and I are back in Kansas this week. We flew home for a friend’s wedding and hopefully the birth of Kelly’s nephew. I’m ready for the invariable question.
“Tyler, what do you do in New York?”
“I heard you have a hot dog cart!”
“I heard you work in a cheese department!”
Well, some of that is true. I have worked in a cheese department and for a restaurant that specializes in gourmet hot dogs. But my favorite New York job is the one I have now. I proudly help keep people safe. Rear View Safety offers backup camera systems, backup sensor systems, mobile DVR’s, driver fatigue systems...

For many drivers it’s hard to think back to a time without technology assisted driving apparatuses. Though there are still many vehicles on the road that lack rear-view cameras and sensors, it has now become the norm in the past couple years to equip all vehicles with one iteration of this technology or another.
A lot of this technology has had the added benefit of improving driving conditions, reducing accidents and being a safer more reliable tool. Parking cameras not only add safety to your vehicle, but more importantly the safety of any unknowing pedestrians who may be running around unseen...

One of the most common instances of truck accident fatalities that happen all over the country involves a semi truck or other large tractor trailer slamming into the rear of a car on the highway. Thirteen people have already died on I-16 from exactly this type of situation in 2015 alone. Perhaps the most famous example is the accident that comedian Tracy Morgan was involved in that claimed the life of at least one person in New Jersey. Now, the industry is turning towards the latest in technological solutions to not only prevent these types of situations from happening, but to make the roads dramatically...

Last month, the House passed an appropriations bill that would put bigger trucks with overworked drivers behind the wheel on the nation's highways. If that weren't irresponsible enough, the Senate is now considering legislation that would allow trucking companies to hire 18-year-old drivers for interstate routes and undermine safety on roads and railroads in numerous other ways.
Even by the low standards of the current Congress, these bills are egregious examples of faithfully saying yes to everything industry wants, in this case transportation companies. The Senate is expected to take up its disingenuously...
