When linked to a compatible iPhone, the Apple Watch will allow the user to take calls, read messages and keep tabs on social media – pretty much everything that’s already outlawed while driving. However, it is likely to prove much more difficult...

The camera earned notoriety earlier this month when Sheepshead Bites revealed its location on Shore Parkway between Ocean Parkway and West Avenue, at the very end of a 400-foot-long exit ramp from the Belt Parkway. Locals and Councilman Mark Treyger expressed outrage at the placement, calling it a trap. But the numbers have led Councilman Chaim Deutsch, in whose...

Why a Camera System?
If you are wondering whether or not to invest in a rear view camera in the first place, consider the following facts:

- The IIHS notes that up to 18,000 people are injured in back-up accidents every year.

In 2002, pediatrician Greg Gulbransen, who dedicated his life to saving the lives of children, was backing his SUV when he ran over and killed his own 2-year-old son. Gulbransen says he used all three mirrors and looked over his shoulder as required before backing up, but that was not enough. He was unable to see his son who he thought was safely in the house.
Gulbransen decided to honor his young son by working to change laws and require rear view cameras to be added as safety devices to all vehicles. As a result of his efforts legislation was passed requiring all new cars sold in the U.S...

The Walk This Way program offers the following tips for back-to-school safety:
- Teach your child to look and listen every time they cross the street.
- Teach by doing. Be a good role model by walking with your children to school and demonstrating safe pedestrian practices – crossing only at intersections, stop signs and crosswalks.
- Always cross with younger children. Children under the age of nine lack the developmental skills to cross the street on their own and should be accompanied either by an adult or by responsible older children.
- Reduce your driving speed. The higher the speed, the...

- Vision problems
- Fatigue
- An increased number of drunken drivers on the road
It is also worth noting that elderly drivers (over the age of 50) have a harder time seeing at night than younger drivers. Existing eye conditions, combined with darkness, make it exponentially...
